Crocro is one of those spots you hear about after you’ve been in the area for a while — mentioned in passing by a surfer who’s been coming here for years, or pointed out by a local guide who’s tired of watching visitors pile into Hash Point without knowing what else exists within a few kilometres. It’s not on the tourist circuit, which is largely the point.

Crocro is located approximately 14km north of Agadir and 2km south of Taghazout village — in the Tamraght bay area, roughly 300 metres north of Devil’s Rock. It is south of Taghazout village, in the Tamraght stretch of coast.

The Wave

Crocro is a beach break with a sandy seabed, offering both rights and lefts. Named after the crocodile-shaped rocks at the spot. Beginner to intermediate level — the sandy bottom and generally forgiving conditions make it popular with surf schools. Best in spring/summer when swells are smaller. Consistent and accessible.

Best Conditions

Swell: Northwest, offshore NE wind — same macro conditions as the wider Taghazout bay. Optimal swell 2–4ft. Works year-round; winter brings larger swells for intermediates.

Best months: Works year-round. Spring/summer for beginners; winter for intermediates.

Skill Level

Beginner to intermediate. Sandy bottom, forgiving conditions. Popular with surf schools. Not a big wave or reef spot.

Getting There

From Taghazout: 2km drive south on the N1. From Tamraght: walkable along the beach or coast path. Visible from the road.

Practical Info

  • Sandy bottom is relatively safe
  • The crocodile-shaped rocks that give the spot its name are present — maintain awareness
  • No formal beach facilities
  • Surf camps are in the immediate area
