Morocco now has its first Marriott-branded hotel, and it opened on the surf coast rather than in one of the country’s traditional city-break capitals. The Marriott Resort Taghazout Bay welcomed its first guests on 1 July 2026, a 250-room beachfront property positioned directly above the Atlantic on the headland between Taghazout village and Aourir.

The property is built to Marriott’s full-service resort standard, with five food and beverage outlets, a spa, two pools — one adults-only infinity edge overlooking the ocean — and direct beach access via a private path. A surf locker and board-rental service acknowledges the area’s core identity: Taghazout Bay is one of Morocco’s most consistent breaks, and the hotel is within five minutes’ walk of Hash Point and Panoramas.
