Wizz Air is expanding direct access to Agadir–Al Massira Airport this winter with three new routes from Central and Eastern Europe - good news for surfers and travellers heading to Taghazout, which sits just 20km north of the airport.

The New Routes

Milan Malpensa–Agadir launched on 15 September 2026, operating twice weekly on Airbus A321neo aircraft flown by Wizz Air Malta. The service runs through the winter season.

Bratislava–Agadir and Gdańsk–Agadir both launch on 27 October 2026, also at twice weekly frequency. The Gdańsk service increases to three weekly departures from 11 February 2027, ahead of the spring surf peak.

What This Means for Taghazout

Until recently, reaching Taghazout from Central and Eastern Europe almost always required a connection through Casablanca, Marrakech, or a Western European hub. The Bratislava service opens a direct path for Slovak, Czech, and Hungarian travellers. The Gdańsk route connects the Polish market directly. The Milan link gives Italian travellers - already a growing presence in Taghazout - a faster option than routing via Casablanca.

All three airports are served by Wizz Air’s extensive Central European network, so passengers from smaller Polish and Slovak cities will be able to connect to these Agadir departures without routing through a major hub.

The Season Context

October through April is Taghazout’s prime surf season, when consistent North Atlantic groundswells arrive at spots like Anchor Point, Hash Point, and Panoramas. The timing of the Bratislava and Gdańsk launches - 27 October - puts them at the precise start of peak season. Combined with the Gdańsk increase from February, the scheduling suggests Wizz Air sees strong demand for the Morocco surf market from northern Europe.
