Option 2: Grand Taxi
Grand taxis are the backbone of Moroccan intercity transport - large Mercedes or Dacia saloons licensed to carry six passengers on fixed routes between towns.
Important: There is no grand taxi rank inside the airport. You have two realistic routes:
Direct charter from the airport
Drivers congregate just outside the arrivals exit. Opening quotes to Taghazout are typically MAD 700–1,000. A reasonable negotiated rate for a direct charter to Taghazout is approximately MAD 450–600, rising towards MAD 650–800 in high season or after dark. Confirm the destination, the total price, and whether it is for the whole vehicle or per seat before getting in.
Two-stage route via Inezgane (cheapest option)
- Exit the terminal and negotiate a ride to Agadir’s Inezgane bus station - approximately MAD 200–250 to charter the whole vehicle (or MAD 50 per seat if shared, though this is uncommon at the airport).
- At Inezgane, join the queue for grand taxis heading north to Aourir (for Tamraght) or Taghazout directly.

Option 3: Shared Shuttle
Several operators run shared shuttles marketed at surfers and travellers heading to the Taghazout coast. These pick up at the terminal and stop at multiple points along the coastal road.

How to find one: check with your accommodation before arrival - many surf camps and riads in Taghazout arrange their own meet-and-greet shuttle as part of a package. For independent shuttles, search “Taghazout airport shuttle” on Google Maps; several local operators appear with contact numbers.
Best for: Solo travellers on a tight budget who do not mind a slightly longer journey and have flexible arrival windows.
Option 4: Self-Drive Rental Car
Car hire desks from Europcar, Hertz, Avis, and local operators including Marwa Rent are located inside the arrivals hall.

Driving from the airport to Taghazout is straightforward: exit onto the N1, head north, pass through Agadir city, continue along the coast through Aourir and Tamraght. The journey takes around 45 minutes. Taghazout village has limited parking; most accommodation has off-road parking or can direct you to the nearest spot.

Option 5: CTM / Supratours Long-Distance Coach
Neither CTM nor Supratours serves the airport directly. Their Agadir terminals are in the city centre (approximately 20 km from AGA). Both operate intercity coaches to Marrakech, Essaouira, and Casablanca, but neither serves Taghazout or Tamraght directly.
Verdict: Not useful for the airport leg. Relevant only if you plan to continue to another Moroccan city - in which case, reach Taghazout first, then catch an onward coach from Agadir.
Tips for Late-Night Arrivals
If your flight lands after 8 pm, informal transport has largely finished for the day. The only reliable options are:
- Pre-booked private transfer - the only option we recommend for night arrivals
- A taxi negotiated directly at arrivals - expect opening quotes of MAD 700–1,000 to Taghazout. A fair late-night rate runs approximately MAD 400–550. Confirm destination and price before getting in.
Grand taxis via Inezgane, shared shuttles, and bus connections are not available after 9 pm.
The practical call: pre-book before you fly. The price difference between a negotiated airport taxi and a pre-booked transfer is rarely significant for two or more passengers, and pre-booking removes all airport stress.
How to Get the Best Price
- Book private transfers early. Fixed prices at booking - no surge pricing, no negotiation fatigue at arrivals.
- Travel in a group. Split between three passengers, a MAD 450–650 private transfer to Taghazout works out at MAD 150–216 per person - barely more than the grand taxi via Inezgane, with the comfort of a door-to-door service and no waiting around.
- Avoid the first driver who approaches you. Airport taxi touts typically open at MAD 700–1,000 to Taghazout. Walk past the immediate line to the official taxi rank outside the terminal before negotiating.
- Carry small notes. Grand taxi drivers rarely carry change for MAD 200. Bring MAD 20 and MAD 50 notes for shared fares.
- Surfboards: notify in advance. Most private transfer providers can accommodate a board bag with advance notice. For two or more boards, specify when booking - a standard saloon vehicle may not fit full quivers. Request a minivan if needed.
- Currency at the airport. There is a Bureau de Change and an ATM in the arrivals hall. Exchange rates are typically unfavourable - withdraw or exchange only enough for your transfer, and sort the rest in Taghazout or Agadir city where rates are better.
Can I bring a surfboard in a grand taxi or shuttle?

Is Uber available from Agadir airport?
