Not every session needs to be at a heaving reef break. Panoramas is where you go when you want mellow, forgiving waves with a view — and it delivers on both counts. It’s the most user-friendly wave in the Taghazout area, and on a small clean swell it’s genuinely good fun regardless of your level.

The Wave

Panoramas is a gentle right-hand point break located south of Taghazout village, offering long, mellow rides on a moderate swell. It breaks more slowly and less powerfully than the breaks to the north, which makes it ideal for beginners finding their feet, longboarders looking for nose-ride sections, and anyone who wants to get a session in without the intensity of Killers or Anchor Point.

The wave is forgiving — wipeouts tend to be low consequence and the bottom is more sand than jagged reef. On a small day (1–3ft), it’s a relaxed paddle and a fun session. It rarely gets truly excellent, but it’s consistently rideable when many other spots are too big or too disorganised.

Best Conditions

Swell: W to NW, 1–4ft. Smaller swells work here when everything further north is closing out.

Wind: Prefers offshore or light winds. Works better than most spots in slightly onshore conditions due to its gentle, mellow nature.

Tide: Works across most tides.

Best months: Works year-round. It’s one of the few spots worth surfing in summer when the swell is small and the bigger breaks are dead. Also reliable throughout winter on smaller swell days.

Skill Level

All levels — genuinely one of the few spots in the area where a complete beginner with a foamie can have fun without getting into serious trouble.

Getting There

Panoramas is south of Taghazout village, towards Tamraght and Agadir. It’s a 10–15 minute walk south from the village, or a very short taxi ride. The approach is from the coast road — look for the break from the road and descend.

Practical Info

  • Hazards: Minimal compared to other spots. Some rock at low tide — check before paddling.
  • Crowds: Moderate. Often used by surf schools as a teaching spot on larger swell days when Hash Point is too big for beginners.
  • Good for: Longboards, mid-lengths, foamies, first-time surfers, anyone recovering from an injury who wants a gentle session.
