Surfers in the water at Taghazout beach with waves

The Aloha Surf from Taghazout expo returns for four days this month, with the event running from 27 to 30 October 2026 at Taghazout beach. The annual gathering draws board shapers, surf schools, wetsuit and equipment brands, and coaches from across Europe and North Africa to Morocco’s main surf village.

For visiting surfers, the expo weekend is one of the more energetic times to be in Taghazout - the usually low-key village picks up considerably, and the concentration of surfers and industry people on the beach creates an atmosphere closer to a surf festival than the everyday scene.

What to expect

The four-day programme covers board shaping demonstrations, surf competitions across Taghazout’s main breaks, brand stands, film screenings, and evening events in and around the village. The format follows previous editions closely: morning and afternoon sessions at the water, evening activity near the main strip.

Anchor Point and Hash Point - Taghazout’s two signature right-hand reef breaks - typically host demo sessions and small competitions during the expo. Conditions at this time of year are variable but improving; Atlantic groundswells begin arriving with more regularity in late October as the winter swell season approaches.

Surf conditions in late October

Late October sits in Taghazout’s transitional period. Summer’s flat spell gives way to the first reliable swells of the season, and water temperature is typically still comfortable for a 3:2mm wetsuit. Crowd pressure at the breaks is lower than peak January–March, making it a reasonable time to surf Anchor Point or Mysteries without the full winter crowd.

Planning around the event

Accommodation in Taghazout village and Tamraght fills quickly around the expo. Agadir (twenty minutes south) has a wider range of hotels if village options are full.
